Testimonials

Less than two years ago, I never imagined I would be a triathlete. I despised running, had never been on a road bike and no experience in swimming. Then I met Jim and that's when I first learned about the sport. We talked about it a few times and I listened in amazement, never thinking I could do a triathlon. Jim suggested I try it. A few days later I went to one of Jim's swimming lesson and in about three months I completed my first Sprint distance triathlon! About fourteen months later I finished my first Ironman distance triathlon!

Jim not only exposed me to a challenging sport that I truly enjoy, but he helped me discover a physical strength and mental drive that I never knew I had. I have excelled beyond my expectations in triathlons and it's all because of Jim's fantastic coaching. He is attentive, personable, passionate and extremely knowledgeable about the sport! Thanks Jim for introducing me to the "tri culture" and making me a fan for life!

Jim's coaching skills and training program really gave me a sense of comfort while attempting to wrap my head around Ironman Arizona. The training was personally built around my busy schedule and adjusted when life got in the way. As Ironman Arizona approached the weather reports were not good. The temperature rose unseasonably high and the winds kicked up. As he had done throughout my training, Jim was there, and my race day plan was changed to accommodate the difficult conditions. Ironman Arizona April 2008 concluded with the second highest DNF rate in Ironman history. Due to Jim's training I was not one of the 20% that dropped out; maybe they should have used 3in1 Coaching too!

When I raced my first half-ironman, it was hard to imagine how I was going to double the distance for an Ironman. Since Jim had coached me successfully through Team in Training in one Olympic triathlon and two half-Ironman race, I felt confident in using his coaching program to attack the Arizona Ironman. Jim was always checking on my progress, meeting with me when necessary, giving input, and praising my training efforts. Whenever I had a strange pain or needed reassurance, I always got a quick response. In the end, Ironman Arizona was great, Jim was there for every transition and I crossed the finish line feeling strong with a smile on my face! Thank you Jim!

Four months after I started training with Coach Jim Hardina I finished my first Olympic-Distance triathlon and placed first in my division. Considering that when I first met Jim I didn't even know how to swim, could barely clip in and out of bike petals and struggled through a two mile run, my finish truly is a testament to his abilities as a coach! Jim does a great job encouraging athletes to push harder and reach their full capacity, without going overboard. I know that by continuing my training with Jim that I'll be able to reach my next goal--completing a Half Ironman race!

When I first thought of doing an Ironman, everyone thought I was crazy specially since I didn't know how to swim well. With great coaching from Jim Hardina, I was able to get over my fear of the water and learn to swim properly. Now I love to swim!

In 2006, Jim coached me through my first Olympic Distance Triathlon and Half Ironman. I started training for Ironman Arizona with 3in1coaching in December 2006.

3in1coaching offers easy access to your schedule on-line. The heart rate based training improved my endurance and overall performance. Since, I travel a lot for work, Jim made changes based on my travel schedule and he was always accessible for questions or concerns. I really liked having someone to go to when I was unsure about something or when I realized Ironman was only one month away. Jim is very motivating and always knows the right thing to say to either calm you down or pump you up.

Thanks to Coach Jim and 3in1coaching, I am proud to say I am an Ironman!

Under the coaching supervision of Jim Hardina and 3in1coaching, I have accomplished more than I could've imagined, including finishing top 3 in my age group multiple times, finishing my first half Iron Man and preparing for my first full Iron Man.

I like Jim's heart rate based training and individual coaching but more importantly, the confidence he gives me needed to be involved in such a mentally tough sport. Jim's love of triathlon shows through in his coaching style and his caring attitude for the wellbeing of his athletes.

After only 2 years in the sport 3in1 Coaching brought me from the comforts of the Olympic distance to the finish line of my first Half Ironman (6:08) and Ironman (12:59:49). Coach Jim kept me doing the right workouts at the right intensity and the right time. During the long weeks of training, it felt good to know that I was on track using my online training log. My training for Ironman Arizona 2007 was injury-free, which I attribute to 3in1 Coaching. The way I was headed, I would have surely over-trained and hurt myself. I highly recommend 3in1 Coaching to anyone who wants to reach his or her goals. Thanks Jim!
